Esther helped me (that means she did it for me!) include an audio of me helping John wash his hair. (Click on the orange word 'audio' to hear it.) It's an example of the difficulties I talk about in these posts, and I hope it gives everyone a deeper understanding of our morning routine, and why I complain about it. It is typical of our every morning experience, and it's the worst part of the day. John hates soap. His idea of a shower is rinsing off with water. So when I use shampoo, he gets very upset.
That said, I do think things are improving with the increase in Seroquel. I think he's a little less upset about the process. He still complains and gripes, but I think he yells less, and is less verbally combative. I'm hoping this improvement continues!
I've also started washing his hair every other day, instead of daily, so that helps too.
One of the posts I read reminded me that when John is giving me trouble, it's not him giving it to me, it's what the disease is doing to him. Unfortunately I'm on the receiving end of it so while that is true, I'm still getting the brundt of it. It explains the behavior, but it doesn't make it less difficult.
The time change has John waking up earlier than usual. The other day he woke me up urgently asking 'Where's Susan?'. He didn't seem satisfied with my explanation that I'm right here, but he didn't push the issue further.
