On Monday morning I woke up to find John already out of bed. I stuck my head out of our room and saw there was a light on downstairs in the kitchen. I asked him what he was doing down there so early in the morning. (I try to keep him upstairs until he's showered and dressed so he doesn't get distracted and make me late for work.) He answered in a frustrated tone "I don't know!" I told him to come upstairs and take a shower, and he did without a huge fuss. An hour later I went downstairs to make him breakfast and discovered 27 (yes I counted) glasses and cups spread out all over the kitchen counter. 6 or 7 were full of water, the rest were empty. I asked him if he had tried to get a drink or some coffee, but he yelled "I don't know!" again. So I dropped the subject and cleaned up the mess, and was a little late to work. If I had a brain in my head I'd get up earlier to allow for these kind of strange things. But when I'm hitting my snooze button in the morning I'm usually able to convince myself that I have plenty of time. It's amazing how easily I believe my lies!
